Sisterhood Teaching Alternatives for Recovery
Therapeutic Community
|
Crossroads’ Turning Points, Inc. (CTP) offers a 24-bed women’s Therapeutic Community
(TC) that offers a short-term (approximately 4 1/2
months) addiction treatment program.
This TC is a highly structured, nurturing program
that utilizes an array of treatment approaches to help
individuals eliminate drug use and related antisocial
behavior. Clients move through a privilege system which provides incentives to achieve
benefits and privileges as they move from
one stage of treatment to another. It provides a
protective environment where the client is taught
and practices new values, behaviors, and ways of
interacting with others.
|
Women bring a complex set of needs when they
arrive at the TC. They are diverse in cultural
and ethnic backgrounds, age, sexual preference,
education, and vocational skills. They share a common bond
- a severe and chronic dependence on substances
and many times a mental health disorder.
The TC is a well-researched treatment model
with progressive phases, individually placed with
variable lengths of stay. Long-term outcomes
are positive for those who complete the program.
Confrontive, yet supportive and empowering, the
therapeutic community assists women in
eliminating their barriers to recovery.
Psychiatric evaluations and licensed professional mental health services are
available to address co-occurring issues, adult and
childhood trauma and medication monitoring.
CTP received approval from the State of Colorado
Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division for licensing.
